ZIPPERS - Replace, Repair and Stop Being Afraid of Them

A standalone workshop for everyone who has a piece of clothing sitting in a "to fix" pile because the zipper is broken, stuck, or has split open at the bottom. Trousers, jeans, dresses, skirts, jackets. Here we fix them together, calmly and at your own pace, and you'll go home with your pieces wearable again, plus the confidence to never fear a zipper again.

Zippers have a reputation for being scary, but they're really just a few steps done in the right order. Once you've done one with me, you can do them all.

Bring more than one item if you have them. We can replace broken zippers, repair separating ones, shorten zippers that are too long, and swap out invisible zippers and standard zippers alike.

I'll take care of everything. Sewing machines, zipper feet, thread, tools and coffee/tea. You just bring the items you want to fix and the new zippers if you've already bought them (otherwise we'll figure it out together).

You'll learn:

• Replacing a standard zipper in trousers, jeans or a skirt
• Inserting an invisible zipper, the kind you find in dresses and skirts, the right way
• Repairing a separating zipper without replacing the whole thing
• Shortening a zipper that's too long for your project
• Replacing zipper pulls and fixing stuck or skipping teeth
• Using the zipper foot properly, the small detail that makes everything easier

Project:

Your own clothes, with their zippers fixed or replaced and ready to wear again.

This workshop is for the dress with the broken zip you haven't worn in two years, the jeans you keep meaning to take to a tailor, the jacket that's been hanging there since last winter. Bring the pieces you keep avoiding, and leave with them working again. You'll learn techniques you can use on every zipper you'll ever meet.

We're only 4 on the team, so I can be there 100% for you all and will be by your side every step of the way.

The workshop is held in calm surroundings at Bentzonsvej 50B, Frederiksberg, just a 3 minute walk from Aksel Møllers Have metro.

WHAT TO BRING

More than one garment with a zipper that needs fixing or replacing (trousers, dresses, skirts, jackets, anything you wear). New zippers if you have them, otherwise just bring the pieces. Then we will find one for you at the atelier. If you're unsure whether something is suitable, send me a photo before the workshop and I'll have a look.

TERMS

If I have to cancel, you'll be offered new dates or a gift card. If you can't make it, I'll happily help you resell your spot. Refunds are not given.
