ALTERING SHIRTS - Make Your Shirts Actually Fit

A standalone workshop for everyone with a shirt in the wardrobe that almost works, but not quite. Maybe the sleeves are too long, the body is too boxy, you've inherited a beautiful men's shirt that swallows you, or you just want a cleaner fit through the shoulders. Here we fix them together, calmly and at your own pace, and you'll go home wearing a shirt that finally feels like yours.

Bring more than one if you have them. We can take in, shorten, reshape and also repair the ones that are broken, missing buttons or worn at the collar.

I'll take care of everything. Sewing machines, thread, tools and coffee/tea. You just bring the shirts you want to work on.

You'll learn:

• Taking in the body and side seams for a slimmer or more shaped fit
• Shortening sleeves, both keeping the original cuff and re-attaching it, and a clean machine hem
• Reshaping an oversized men's shirt into something that fits you, cropped, fitted, or a softer relaxed shape
• Replacing missing buttons and fixing buttonholes
• Repairing worn collars, frayed cuffs and broken seams so your shirts get a second life
• Pinning, fitting and pressing, the small steps that make alterations look professional

Project:

Your own shirts, altered and repaired so you actually want to wear them again.

This workshop is for the shirt you keep meaning to "do something with". Bring the oversized one from the thrift shop, the favourite that's lost a button, the one that fits everywhere except the sleeves. You'll learn techniques you can use again and again, on every shirt you own.

We're only 4 on the team, so I can be there 100% for you all and will be by your side every step of the way.

The workshop is held in calm surroundings at Bentzonsvej 50B, Frederiksberg, just a 3 minute walk from Aksel Møllers Have metro.

WHAT TO BRING

More than one shirt you want to alter or repair (men's shirts, women's shirts, linen, cotton, anything woven). If you're unsure whether a shirt is suitable, send me a photo before the workshop and I'll have a look.

TERMS

If I have to cancel, you'll be offered new dates or a gift card. If you can't make it, I'll happily help you resell your spot. Refunds are not given.
