ALTERING BLAZERS - Make Your Blazer Actually Fit
Altering Blazers: Bring your blazer and leave wearing it, taken in, reshaped or repaired so it finally fits like it was made for you.
A standalone workshop for everyone with a blazer in the wardrobe that almost works, but not quite. Maybe the sleeves are too long, the shoulders are too wide, you've found a gorgeous wool blazer in a thrift shop that's two sizes too big, or you just want to take in the waist for a sharper line. Here we fix them together, calmly and at your own pace, and you'll go home wearing a blazer that finally looks like it was made for you.
Blazers are the most advanced piece in your wardrobe, so for this workshop you need to have done Beginner 1 and 2, or have equivalent sewing experience. Don't worry though, I'm by your side the whole way.
Bring more than one if you have them. We can take in, shorten, reshape and also repair the ones with broken linings, loose buttons or worn cuffs.
I'll take care of everything. Sewing machines, thread, tools and coffee/tea. You just bring the blazers you want to work on.
You'll learn:
- Shortening sleeves, with or without working buttonholes, and how to keep the original cuff
- Taking in the back seam and side seams for a slimmer, more shaped fit
- Adjusting the body length and reshaping the hem
- Repairing torn linings and replacing missing buttons
- Pressing techniques that give a tailored finish, because pressing is what separates "altered" from "tailored"
- Pinning and fitting on the body, the small steps that make alterations look professional
Project:
Your own blazer, altered and repaired so it fits like it was made for you.
This workshop is for the blazer you love but never reach for, the oversized one from the second-hand shop, the inherited piece that almost works. Bring the one you keep meaning to "do something with", and leave with it ready to throw on over everything this autumn. You'll learn techniques you can use on every blazer you own from here on.
We're only 4 on the team, so I can be there 100% for you all and will be by your side every step of the way.
The workshop is held in calm surroundings at Bentzonsvej 50B, Frederiksberg, just a 3 minute walk from Aksel Møllers Have metro.
WHAT TO BRING
More than one blazer you want to alter or repair (wool, linen, cotton, vintage, modern). If you're unsure whether a blazer is suitable, send me a photo before the workshop and I'll have a look.
TERMS
If I have to cancel, you'll be offered new dates or a gift card. If you can't make it, I'll happily help you resell your spot. Refunds are not given.
I hope I get to sew with you <3
