BEGINNER 1 - The Sewing Machine and Your First Stitches

The very first workshop in the Beginner Series.

For you who has never sewn before, or who has stood in front of a sewing machine thinking, “Where on earth do I start?”

Here, we begin from scratch, calmly and at your own pace. You’ll go home with your very own crescent bag and with a sewing machine you actually dare to touch.

I’ll take care of everything: fabric, pattern, sewing machines, thread, and coffee/tea. You just have to show up.

You’ll learn:

• The sewing machine from A to Z: threading, bobbins, stitch settings, and how to control the speed
• Straight seams, gentle curves, and neat finishes
• Seam allowance and pressing, because the iron is honestly half of sewing
• Simple hems and clean edges
• How to read a pattern without breaking a sweat

Project:

A simple crescent bag, the it-bag of the summer, sewn by you from start to finish.

The crescent bag is the perfect first project. Small enough to finish in one workshop, beautiful enough that you’ll actually want to carry it, and just challenging enough to teach you the basics of guiding fabric through a machine.

You’ll go home with a bag you’ll use all summer and the confidence to keep sewing on your own.

We’re only four in the group, so I can be there 100% for each of you and stay by your side every step of the way.

The workshop is held in calm surroundings at Bentzonsvej 50B, Frederiksberg, just a 3-minute walk from Aksel Møllers Have metro station.
